GOOD NEWS FOR FELLOW MANCUNIANS LONG LIVE SIR ALEX

Alex Ferguson has been given the green light by the Glazers to make a £17million move for Lyon’s attacking midfielder Michael Essien. The Ghanaian, 22, has become a top target for Manchester United’s manager after new owner Malcolm Glazer’s son Joel insisted money would be made available.
Meantime, Sir Alex Ferguson has been assured by the Glazers that he will be Manchester United boss for "many years to come." Brothers Joel, Avi and Bryan met Fergie (right) following the £790m take-over. Chairman-elect Joel said: "United are fortunate to have a wonderful manager in Sir Alex. We hope to work with him for many, many years.”
