JPA OR MCA Scholarship??
23rd May 2007: the front page of Sin Chew Daily shows about 160 proud JPA scholars with their smiling face together with MCA leaders in a Luncheon honoring this year’s successful Chinese JPA applicants
on that occasion, MCA chief datuk ong ka ting proudly claimed that for the past few years MCA has been ‘HELPING’ top Chinese students obtaining JPA scholarships.
BULLSHIT !
yes, its true that MCA did help a handful of student to ‘obtain’ their jpa scholarships for the past few years. I dunno how they do it but somehow they have done it. political mercy? backdoor negotiation? I dunno..
but let me be clear, MOST OF THE JPA SCHOLARS (previous batch) DID NOT AND WILL NOT ASK HELP FROM ANY POLITICAL PARTY
Most of us Obtained our place WITHOUT any HELP OR MERCY OF ANY POLITICAL PARTY.
***
One MCA YB in bukit mertajam even proudly appeared on local newspaper claiming that he personally ‘FOUGHT’ for 20 over students and most of them are successful, because of himself and his party.
I guess that if he even dare to approach a low-rank JPA officer, the officer might ask:
‘Lu ingat lu siapa???’
***
Most of the scholars I knew, worked hard for our scholarship. we applied directly from the public service department and we got it DIRECTLY.
We are thankful for our parents, our teachers, our own luck maybe, BUT WE ARE NEVER THANKFUL FOR MCA or any YB and DATUK DATIN !!
for MCA to claim that they had HELPED US, its arrogant, its misleading, and IT’S A LIE!!
It’s shameful to see that this country’s government scholarships and university placements is already a political and racial issue. Worse still, certain politicians even use it as some cheap election stunt.
so let me suggest, abolish all scholarships and only set up UMNO scholarship, MCA scholarship and MIC scholarship.
Gerakan Scholarship???
"haha, Lu ingat lu siapa ?!?"

My coming new post will also tackle this issue!!! From an Economist’s view point.. I can’t wait to post it. See clearly the pic, do you see the girl from KK who is younger than any form-5 leaver? Yeah, MCA claimed that they help STUDENTS who come from family with monthly income LESS thab RM1500. But that gal’s father is a neurologist. You tell me he earns less than RM1500? My ass also earning more than that lol

Seriously I think that you are not being fair when you wrote this. Why? The reasoning is simple actually.Although you might say that a majority of non-bumi jpa scholars are being rewarded for their hard earned academic achievements, co-curricular activities and blah blah blah, you mustn’t overlook the high percentage of brilliant students who was rejected by jpa. These students might be as good as you and me but the government denies them the chance to pursue tertiary education overseas. Therefore, political assistance is needed to assist these smart students in securing a financial aid that will undoubtedly realize their dreams of studying abroad. You might feel uncomfortable by the involvement of political leaders in deciding who deserves to get this scholarship and that scholarship. But, that’s how a country is, politics and education is inseparable.
